Destin, Florida

Known as the "World's Luckiest Fishing Village", Destin, Florida started as a commercial fishing village by Leonard Destin, who left New England to settle the East Pass peninsula circa 1850. Originally cut off from the rest of the world until a bridge was erected over the Destin Pass in 1930, the area became one of the last to make a name for itself as a resort destination. With it's fine white sand (known as sugar sand) and emerald clear waters, vacationers and sports enthusiast alike have discovered the last secrets of Destin and its beautiful coastline in the Florida Panhandle.

Literally millions of people flock to the Emerald Coast every year. They come for many reasons... but the sheer physical beauty of the place is the chief motivation. Shockingly white sands frame brilliant aquamarine waters, scattered sea-oats cling to soaring sand dunes, surrounded by sand pines and blossoming magnolia trees.

Navarre, Florida

Navarre is one of the wonderful beach communities along the Emerald Coast in the panhandle of Florida. While many homes are vacation homes there is also a year round community that enjoys a unique small town quality of life. The schools are exceptional and the neighbors are great.

We have assembled a lot of information on Navarre for you so please take this opportunity to tour Navarre. The Florida Department of Education has graded the Navarre schools with an "A".

Niceville, Florida

Niceville, FL (Home of the Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival) is located in Okaloosa County, in the Panhandle of Northwest Florida. The county's northern boundary borders Alabama. To the south is Choctawhatchee Bay, Destin and the Gulf of Mexico.

Nestled between Boggy Bayou and Rocky Bayou, everyone living here has a boat and goes fishing every weekend. (It seems like it, anyway.) Niceville, is located about 150 miles west of Tallahassee and about 65 miles east of Pensacola. Niceville is a six-hour drive from Atlanta, less than four  hours from New Orleans and about seven hours from Disney World.

A land of towering pines and majestic oaks, this part of Florida is largely flat and heavily wooded with scores of lakes, ponds, streams and rivers. Located in the heart of Florida's Emerald Coast, leading vacation publications have recognized Okaloosa County beaches as the world's finest (they just love our sugar-white sand and emerald green Gulf waters).

Niceville's population is around 12,000. (More like 112,000 the third weekend in October!) The Niceville area, which includes Valparaiso and the Bluewater Bay area, has about 16,000 households

Bluewater Bay, a residential-resort community located near Niceville, features some of Florida's most challenging golf and is one of the top-ranked tennis centers in the state. The resort, which attracts a large number of European vacationers, also is ranked a "Top Ten Family Vacation Resort" by Family Circle Magazine.

Because Niceville, FL is adjacent to Eglin Air Force Base, it has a large number of military and retired military households. Eglin Air Force Base is the world's largest military facility, encompassing 728 square miles and more than 15,000 active duty personnel.
